Rudd Mt. Veeder Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2021- Special Priced 3-Pack - K. Laz Wine Collection

This Sauvignon Blanc will absolutely sell out before the next vintage release so I would highly suggest getting some bottles now. Rudd’s Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best Whites coming out of Napa Valley and drinks like the great White Bordeaux wines of France. At 1600 feet in elevation, it is an anomaly to find Sauvignon Blanc grown on such exceptional Mt. Veeder soil. Yet when vintner Leslie Rudd was first figuring out what to plant on their newly acquired land, he reached out to Didier Dagueneau, long considered one of the best Sauvignon Blanc producers in the world to ask him to visit the property. Immediately upon his visit, Didier told Leslie that the soil reminded him of his own in France's Loire Valley and with careful farming, he could produce exceptional Sauvignon Blanc and that is exactly what Leslie did despite knowing that he would never get the value of his land from farming a White instead of a Napa Valley Red. The Sauvignon Blanc harvest on their Mt. Veeder Estate began quite early, starting on August 17th, rounding out the harvest of white wine varietals with Semillon and Sauvignon Gris after only 13 days. Smaller canopies and berries meant smaller yields, resulting in concentrated grapes with tremendous flavor, encapsulating the beauty of the vintage. While a small production size was dictated by the rhythms of the growing season, the quality level of the 2021 vintage is singularly exceptional. “The palate opens with bold golden delicious apple, crisp kiwi, and tart nectarine. Ever evolving and exhilarating, the persistent acidity drives this wine through its abundant flavor profile, lifting it throughout the palate. The velvety smoothness is intriguing and unique, alluding to a perceptible delicate density without leaving the palate fatigued.”
