Realm‘Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Realm has been fortunate to work with grapes from Beckstoffer To Kalon since founder Juan Mercado began producing wine in 2002. Comprised of a portion of the historical To Kalon vineyard planted in 1868, the 89-acre parcel was acquired by Andy Beckstoffer in 1993 and replanted to multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. “With considerable swirling, fragrant scents of Morello cherries, black raspberries, and redcurrant jelly waft from the glass with an earthy undercurrent of dusty soil, black truffles, and mossy tree bark, plus a touch of pencil shavings. The tight-knit, full-bodied palate has a beautiful, finely grained texture with bags of freshness lifting the layered red and black fruits, finishing very long and fantastically earthy. This highly cerebral expression of this iconic vineyard will reward the patient. Give it a good 6-8 years in magnum and drink it over the next 40+ years.” 98+ Points, Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
