Realm'Tempest' Red 2019

Tempest was Realm’s first Proprietary Red that was produced since their inaugural 2002 winery vintage and so we have a fondness for this Red. This newest offering is comprised of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Differing than the 2018 vintage, winemaker Benoit Touquette sourced from cooler climate sites including Farella Vineyard in Coombsville, Oakville and their own Stags Leap Estate vineyard, Moonracer.  The Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from Houyi Vineyard on Pritchard Hill. “Deep garnet-purple colored, the nose offers gorgeous notes of baked blueberries, black cherries and mulberries with hints of menthol, dark chocolate and licorice. Full-bodied, rich, and velvety, the mouth is packed with loads of spicy layers, while bright sparks of red fruit offer compelling energy, culminating with a long, perfumed finish.”
