Pont Neuf'Le Pont Neuf' Chardonnay 2019

This is our favorite of the Chardonnays that Pont Neuf produces and was my first choice when choosing what Chardonnay to share at my wedding last weekend! Comprised of the Montrachet clone, the soil type from the specific block in Lancel Creek Vineyard is what makes the subtle difference in this bottling as it has more clay. “Le Pont Neuf is more power packed from front to back with a great combination of mineral structure and ginger cookie accents. We have had tasters who ‘don't drink chardonnay’ flip over Le Pont Neuf as if they just discovered what they had been missing,” explains vintner, Mary Danielak. The 2019 evolves slowly in the bottle with new aromas and flavors emerging as the young wine develops. The tasting experience is one of energy and movement where a subtle hint of one aroma is replaced by one after another as it evolves in the glass. Seductive aromas of honeycomb, crystallized lemon peel, and Freesia are accompanied by a pliant and luxurious mouthfeel. A fine thread of minerality runs through this wine, giving structure and making it fit to age for at least a decade. 70 cases were produced.
