Patria‘Monarch’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2021- Special Priced 3-Pack
I first met California native winemaker Tony Biagi while he was working at Cade and Plumpjack in 2006. A few years later, he moved on to become the winemaker at Hourglass and now, in addition to his role there, Tony has embarked on producing his own wine, Patria, which means homeland in Italian. 2013 marked his debut vintage but with production being so small and the quality being so good for the price, Patria sold out almost immediately. This 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon “is deep garnet-purple in color and waltzes out with open-knit notes of crème de cassis, blueberry compote, and chocolate box, plus touches of wild sage and dried roses. The full-bodied palate has a firm, serious texture of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to support the generous fruit, finishing long and pure.” Comprised mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tony blended 13% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc to the final blend. It is a must-try Cabernet and while very young as a vintage, it is already beginning to show its potential. 500 cases were produced.
