Memento Mori Cabernet Sauvignon 2012Napa Valley

Kudos goes out to the Memento Mori team for making such an incredible 2012 Cab. Their 2011 was one of the best of its vintage for Napa Valley Cab but with such a phenomenal 2012 season, their new release is awesome. Under the winemaking guidance of Sam Kaplan, also of Arkenstone, this 2012 comes from three marquis vineyards- Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena as well as Weitz Vineyard in Oakville. You might know of Weitz Vineyard as it is the primary source for Maybach's Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, this wine flows onto the palate with deeply concentrated notes of cassis and dark red and blue fruit. It offers signature layers of graphite and crushed rocks that add complexity in the layers of fruit. 660 cases were produced.
