LaRueSonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2015

Last month in a line-up consisting of new Pinot Noir releases, Katy Wilson’s 2015 LaRue was the clear winner. I have loved seeing the progression of Katy’s Pinot Noir efforts as each vintage she produces is even better and more evolved, both texturally and in complexity, than the previous. This 2015 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir bursts with aromas of bright cherry, spiced plum, and raspberry preserves. On the palate, it is concentrated and powerful and the acidity is bright and mouthwatering with flavors of fresh cherry and strawberry shining through. The tannin is mouth-filling and offers a smooth and lingering finish. Katy gained a wealth of knowledge and experience with her time at Kamen, Flowers and Cobb Wines but it’s her own wine, LaRue, that excites Pinot drinkers now. 240 cases were produced.
