Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2017 - K. Laz Wine Collection
The vineyards Kosta Browne sources from lies in both the southern portion of the Sonoma Coast appellation and in the northern true coastal zone. In the southern area, the Petaluma Wind Gap and the San Pablo Bay drive cooler temperatures and provide deep flavors and richly textured wines. The vineyards from the coastal reaches contribute more of the savory and spice characteristics as well as great structure and poise. This 2017 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir offers aromas of blackberry, Bing cherry and bramble fruits are the primary notes with subtle secondary tones of forest floor that lead onto the palate with focused, intense dark fruits with notes of blackberry and blueberry.

It’s hard to believe that Kosta Browne has been making wine for almost 20 years. What started as a micro-size Pinot project between Dan Kosta and Mike Browne has now become a much larger brand that continually strives to make great Pinot Noir with a small amount of Chardonnay. We’ve seen this situation occur countless times, yet this is one of the few projects that have successfully kept their attention to quality and brand intact despite their increase in production.
