Gros VentreChenin Blanc 2020- Special Priced 3-Pack
As one of the early supporters of Gros Ventre since their debut release, Chris’s own wine project began with the 2008 vintage after years of working and learning from some of the best Sonoma Pinot Noir wineries including Williams Selyem and Marcassin, he is now concentrating his efforts making Gros Ventre, which means 'big belly' in French as his wife was pregnant, expecting their first child in the inaugural vintage. This 2020 Chenin Blanc comes from Wilson Vineyard, located in the tiny sub-AVA of Merritt Island, which is part of Clarksburg AVA. This 28-acre vineyard was planted in 1997 and sits on sandy loam soils at a staggering altitude of 5 feet above sea level. Chris whole cluster pressed and fermented the grapes in stainless steel tank, after which he aged it in neutral French oak for 6 months prior to bottling. On the palate, it offers aromas of lemon curd, Asian pear, and white flowers with subtle notes of sweet spice and hazelnut. This wine is medium weight on the palate with a bright and lingering finish.
