The sun-kissed 2018 vintage yielded a voluptuous expression of this site. It leads with dark plum, woodsmoke, and a hint of fine dark chocolate. While it has the muscular backbone you expect from Nuits-Saint-Georges, the tannins are remarkably polished and lithe, a testament to the new direction at the Domaine. This is a bottle that will age effortlessly in your cellar for many years, but it’s showing so much primary fruit right now that it’s pretty hard to resist at the moment.

Founded in the 1920s, Domaine Henri Gouges is one of the most respected and historic estates in Nuits-Saint-Georges and a benchmark for the appellation.
