Fortunate Son'The Diplomat' Red 2019- 1.5L Bottle
After a few years without producing Fortunate Son, Hundred Acre’s vintner, Jayson Woodbridge, has finally released this sought-after sister wine label. “The 2019 vintage was in every way staggeringly great to me. I knew then, as I watched the vintage progress and when I finally and methodically picked the fruit block by block, passing through again and again to get just the perfect clusters, the fruit, those intense flavors, the richness were something incredible, even more so now, looking back, knowing now that the following year would bring so much carnage. How lucky I was, and I didn’t even know it.” The Diplomat is as Jayson describes, a 21st Century American Claret. “The Diplomat comes from a handful of sites and would give a great Pomerol a run for its money with its darker red and black fruits, smoky herbs, and earthy goodness on the nose. These carry to a full-bodied, rounded, opulent 2019 with sweet, building tannins and a great finish. Give it a few years.” -Jeb Dunnuck.
