Detert Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 - Library Release - K. Laz Wine Collection
190 cases were produced of this outstanding Oakville estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Detert. This 2014 library spills into the glass with aromas of dark cherry, cassis that lead onto the palate with rich, dense and concentrated flavors of berry and cassis and secondary notes of baking cocoa and spice box. Coming from Detert's west block and south block, this Cabernet is comprised of their family's heritage clones of Cabernet Sauvignon along with Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon, a clone which has been very successful throughout To Kalon. The alluvial soils here produce exceptionally elegant, nuanced and age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon which showcases rich, dark fruit and mineral notes.

Detert is tucked into the hillside of the famed ToKalon Vineyard in Oakville and for years, grapes were sold to Mondavi Winery’s Reserve program. Since 2001, winemaker and vintner, Tom Garrett and his family have been keeping some fruit back for their own wine, Detert. Detert is considered to have the oldest plantings of Cabernet Franc in Napa Valley and produces one of the best single varietal offerings along with an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon that represents the best of Oakville's west bench.
