We sold out of this Collina Dalla Valle very quickly last year, so I would get back to us quickly if you’re interested in this newest release from Dalla Valle. There are few Oakville Reds of this caliber at this price point. Collina Dalla Valle is grown on Dalla Valle’s estate hillside vineyard and made to be enjoyed upon release thanks to the great winemaking expertise of Andy Erickson. The 2016 is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot. Approximately 24.5% of the fruit came from Oakville Ranch due to low yields on the estate vineyard and a small replant of a block. “This wine is a bold expression of this classic vintage. The first impression is of the wine’s red-black color, impressive density and outright opacity.  From the glass it is incredibly effusive, with notes of frankincense, baked blackberries, gun smoke, and thyme.  This complex mélange carries through to the palate, as rich black fruit flavors take hold, along with exotic hints of black licorice and sandalwood.  The texture is highly polished, but with a tightly knit structure that holds it all together.  This combination of aromatic intensity, well-toned muscle, expansive flavor palate, and silky texture, together take the wine to a high level of hedonistic enjoyment.”
