Cornell Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Spring Mountain

A few months ago we took the windy drive up Spring Mountain and passed Vineyard 7&8 and Pride to find another long, wavy road leading up to Cornell Vineyards. Unlike any property we've been to, this property revealed 180 acres of pure, untouched beauty with an additional 20 acres of meticulously farmed vineyard. From the property you can see beyond Sonoma and out towards the Pacific Coast. The views are unparalleled and this debut vintage to the public is just as striking. Produced by none other than one of our favorite winemakers in the valley, Francoise Peschon (of VHR, Accendo Cellars, Drinkward Peschon and formerly of Araujo Estate) and Graham Wehmeier, this 2013 is a must-try. Comprised almost entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Petit Verdot, this new release opens with aromas of black cherry and blackberries with a subliminal undertone of mineral notes. Enhancing the layers of this 2013 are secondary notes of cedar and forest floor. 525 cases were produced of this exciting new Cabernet Sauvignon.
