Carte Blanche 'Sun Chase Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2014 Sonoma Coast

Sun Chase Vineyard has become known as a vineyard source yielding high-quality Pinot Noir that is a bit more full-bodied than some of its counterparts nearby and closer to the Pacific coastline. This 2014 offers dark red fruit with secondary notes of sandalwood and black tea. I still find it incredible that this small winery in Sonoma Coast is owned by the grandson of the proprietors of Chateau Haut Brion, one of my favorite Bordeaux houses. Yet Nicholas Allen is making his own name in the wine world by concentrating on producing well-made, exciting offerings from California’s Sonoma Coast. 225 cases were produced.
