Ashes & Diamonds Rouge is a blend of Bordeaux style varietals from select vineyards across Napa Valley. The variety of regions depicts a whole view of what Napa Valley represents as a single AVA - from thin, rugged soils to the thicker, rich soils of the valley floor. Rouge also marries multiple vintages as another tool in the art of blending, which delivers a more approachable wine earlier in its life. Kashy Khaledi gained his passion for wine from his parents founding Darioush Winery. The 40-acre property that is home to Ashes & Diamond consists of 55-acres planted to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. They also sell fruit to small local wineries. This Napa Valley Red is focused, with notes of dark cherry and secondary notes of cocoa dusting and spice. “The wine rests easy on the palate, with great tannic structure and a round, rich frame. An excellent Napa Valley Cabernet blend, more about structure than ripeness and alcohol.”
