Arrow & Branch'Vine Hill Ranch' Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

This newest single vineyard for Arrow & Branch marks the second vintage that winemaker Jen Williams was able to source fruit from what is considered one of the Grand Cru grower vineyard sites in Oakville, Vine Hill Ranch. Working with Vine Hill Ranch is a natural fit since Arrow & Branch’s vineyard manager is Mike Wolf, who also oversees all the viticulture for Vine Hill Ranch. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is deep garnet-purple in color and “offers up flamboyant scents of mocha, stewed plums, blackcurrant cordial and licorice, with an undercurrent of kirsch, tar, lilacs and tobacco leaf. The taut, densely laden, full-bodied palate is built like a brick house, supported by firm, ripe, fine-grained tannins, and seamless freshness, finishing long with a compelling savoriness.” 97 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. 162 cases were made.

These vineyards are all noted for having exceptional Napa Valley terroir. Mike Wolf has planted and farmed what have become preeminant vineyards in Napa Valley. His magic touch combined with Jennifer's winemaking expertise makes for a stellar combination. Before Jennifer was heading the team at Arrow & Branch, she learned the farming side of wine production with one of the best, David Abreu and soon became winemaker at Spottswoode. Her wine style is all about the vineyard and speaks with precision, complexity and elegance in the glass.
