KERRIN LAZ Founder

Kerrin Laz, founder of K. LAZ WINE COLLECTION, grew up on Long Island, where her passion for food and wine was sparked by her parents and the local farmstands, butcher shops, and fish markets. She first encountered the world of viticulture as nearby potato farms transformed into vineyards. While studying at UNC Chapel Hill, she expanded her industry knowledge by working at acclaimed restaurants like Crook’s Corner and Anotherthyme, where she developed a deep appreciation for the natural pairing of wine and food.

For 12 years, Kerrin honed her expertise in tasting, sourcing, and marketing fine wines at DEAN & DELUCA, where she built close relationships with top California winemakers and curated collections for CEOs, celebrities, and industry leaders. After the company’s sale in 2015, she launched K. LAZ WINE COLLECTION in Yountville, offering a handpicked selection of rare and highly sought-after wines. In 2016, she became a vintner with her own label, LAZ Wine, partnering with renowned winemaker Celia Welch.

Beyond her work in wine, Kerrin is the founder of Inspire Napa Valley, a nonprofit that has raised over $7 million for Alzheimer’s research and local care initiatives. She has also collaborated with Four Seasons 706 Mission Private Residences in San Francisco to create an exclusive wine tasting and club program. Recognized by publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Food & Wine, and Architectural Digest, Kerrin remains a trusted voice in the wine industry, valued for her expertise, relationships, and passion for connecting people with extraordinary wines.

Having started out in film and theatre, Jillian discovered her love of wine while studying abroad in France at the age of 20. After time in New York, she began her fine-dining career in Chicago and pursued certifications through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She was one of the opening sommeliers at RPM Restaurants and subsequently Wine Director for Park Hyatt and NoMI Restaurant.

After years of visiting Napa, Jillian arrived in the area to work harvest in August of 2020 for what she thought would be a brief stint. That was when she truly fell in love with the world-class wines and incredible community of the valley and realized she wanted to make it home, which she did in 2021 as Meadowood Wine Director. Her lists have received multiple Wine Spectator awards. Hailing from Houston, Texas originally, Jillian has also been an avid practitioner of yoga for 20 years and is a proud aunt to 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
