Straka Viognier 2016
Oak Knoll – 750ml

Straka Viognier 2016 Oak Knoll - K. Laz Wine Collection

We probably wouldn’t put such an emphasis on a $35 Viognier unless it was that great! Produced by the mother/daughter team of Francoise Peschon, who you might know of from her daytime job making wine at VHR, Cornell and Drinkward Peschon and Isabelle Straka who, in addition to getting her Masters at UC Davis for enology and viticulture is a member of our K. Laz Family. Combine these factors and we have access one of the best new Viognier to come out of California. it is bright, vibrant and delicious. 65-case produced.

From Straka Wines:
Our grapes are grown in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, a region known for its dense morning fog and cool afternoon breezes. This unique microclimate allows our Viognier to ripen slowly, resulting in the gradual development of complexity in the fruit without the overdevelopment of sugar in the berries.

Grapes were harvested by hand on September 1st and fermented both in stainless steel drums and neutral French oak barrels. The wine was aged sur lie for nine months prior to its release. Vibrant notes of jasmine blossom, stone fruit and white pepper jump from the glass of this classic and elegant Napa Valley Viognier.
