McGah 'Scarlett' Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

 Coming from McGah’s estate vineyard on the eastern side of Rutherford, this Cabernet Sauvignon time and again is one of the best Cabernets showing in our tastings we host. Winemaker Mike Smith has been able to use this fruit for his other winery projects but for McGah’s own Cabernet label, this 2014 offers “scents of crème cassis, creosote, dark chocolate and barrel spice intermingle with a dusty soil component, yielding a rich texture and mouth feel while staying light on its feet. The mid palate is loaded with opulent fruit that sails off into a powerful yet refined 30-second finish, buttressed by perfectly ripened tannins.”
