Maybach 'Amoenus' Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

The 2015 vintage marks the 6th release of Maybach Amoenus, which comes from Blossom Creek Vineyard located on the Western side of Calistoga, where the moderating temperatures of the Black Mountain Gap are 10-15 degrees cooler than on the Eastern side of the Calistoga Palisades. This allows for gradual ripening and full maturation. "With the 2014, fruit, acid, structure and varietal notes all hit the palate simultaneously. Digging for detail on the nose and palate, the first impressions are soil-driven: graphite, creosote and crushed rock. The flavors have good concentration without being overly brooding or clamped down. There's a nice freshness to the wine as well, a factor of the abundant natural acidity and well-integrated oak. It's a little frightening how easy this is to drink right now - a pretty good glimpse into the wine's very bright future." - Thomas Brown, winemaker. 350 cases were produced.
