Marciano Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 - K. Laz Wine Collection
In 2006, Maurice Marciano bought a west St. Helena bench vineyard from the Bradley family, who had purchased this special property from the Bourn family. Today, Andy Beckstoffer owns part of the property (which is Kata, also offered in this email today) with the remaining part owned by Maurice. Continually seeking out the best quality that the vineyard and soil could produce, Maurice hired David Abreu to replant the entire vineyard in 2006 and Andy Erickson (of Dalla Valle and Favia) to make the wine. 2012 marks their first winery vintage. They made a 2011 blend called Terra Gratia but they didn't produce their flagship Red blend, Massiglia nor their estate Cabernet. This winery has become an exciting new venture offering top-notch debut offerings. “The 2014 Marciano Estate bursts from the glass, boasting aromas of blackberries, black currant, juniper berry, black olive, and espresso. Presenting with a soft, restrained entry on the palate, it builds gently and elegantly to a firm, lengthy mid-palate, laden with a symphony of well-integrated oak tannins that carry layers of bold, savory flavors through an extensive finish. This refined, masculine wine was born for longevity." – Marciano Estate
