Localism Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Napa Valley - K. Laz Wine Collection
This is an incredible Cabernet for the price. This Cabernet is sourced from the Wirkus Vineyard, a tiny one-acre vineyard in Coombsville, managed by the legendary Jim Barbour. This new release is blended with a touch of Merlot and Petit Verdot. This young `13 Cabernet is drinking beautifully as a baby but it has the structure to age nicely in the cellar. Localism Wines was founded in 2010 by winemakers Ryan Knoth (Staglin, Gandona, Sinegal) and Landon Donley (Spottswoode Estate) and this year, Ryan and his wife, Nicole, took over as the sole partners. This 3rd release is their best effort. Full-bodied, ripe black cherries, lavender, milk chocolate, and vanilla fill the glass with full-bodied with excellent concentration, beautiful French oak integration, good acidity, and youthful, fine tannins. 130 cases were produced.
