Drinkward Peschon Entre-deux-Meres Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Napa Valley - K. Laz Wine Collection

Francoise Peschon dropped a bottle of this new 2013 vintage last week and yesterday, we opened it and blind tasted with a few of our friends who stopped by the tasting room. We all agreed that this is one outstanding Cabernet. Each year Drinkward Peschon garners as much attention as some of the biggest wines we release each year because it tastes as good but at about half the price of its rivals. Plus we sell out of this single label long before the next vintage is released each year. Since their inaugural 2000 vintage, we’ve been a fan of this wine project “between two mothers” Francoise Peschon (former winemaker at Araujo and current winemaker of Vine Hill Ranch and Bart & Daphne Araujo’s new winery, Accendo Cellars) and Lisa Drinkward of Behrens & Hitchcock fame. For their 2013 vintage, notes of dark red and purple fruit dusted with dark chocolate coat the palate with subtle graphite and mineral notes. The texture as in past vintages is seamless and silky. 730 cases were produced. This is the perfect party wine.
