Corra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Napa Valley - K. Laz Wine Collection

We have been a great fan of Celia Welch’s winemaking efforts at some outstanding wineries in Napa Valley including DR Stephens, Kelly Fleming, Lindstrom, Keever and of course, Scarecrow.  But it was her own wine project, Corra, which she began with the 2004 vintage that really got us connected. Unlike many winemakers, Celia wasn’t interested in producing a wine of her own and for years, chose to work on her craft, which was making great wine for wineries so she could dedicate as much time as possible in the vineyards. When she finally decided to launch Corra, we were one of the first to jump at the opportunity to work with her directly in bringing her wine to our customers while at Dean & DeLuca. As in the past, this 2014 comes from exceptional vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville and Pritchard Hill. “Aromas of blackberry jam, cassis, dusty raspberries, dark cocoa and baked cherry pie all swirl and combine in the glass to create an interesting and evocative aroma profile in this very ripe Napa Cabernet. Touches of citrus zest, cinnamon, black pepper and a touch of sweet earth add slightly deeper base notes to the aromas. At entry, the wine is fresh and laden with dark cherry and blackberry flavors.” 400 cases were produced.
