Continuum Estate Red 2013Pritchard Hill

This 2013 vintage is the second year that vintner Tim Mondavi’s Continuum Estate Red is comprised of all Estate fruit from their exquisite Pritchard Hill vineyard. A blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot, this remains one of our favorite Pritchard Hill wineries despite the number of new wineries that have planted roots in this famed part of the valley. “Extreme care and attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar produced a fabulous 2013 Continuum, 100% grown at the estate high above Oakville. The 2013 has a dense purple robe, red highlights and a vibrant violet rim. A sumptuous yet brilliantly balanced wine, the 2013 Continuum is flush with black cherry and mulberry fruit and complex flavors of graphite and African coffee. Full bodied and opulent, the 2013 is polished, supple and harmonious with a long and complex finish and a vibrant core of minerality.” We tasted this in February and think it’s their best release to date.
