Black Cordon Cabernet Sauvignon 2013Napa Valley

This relatively under the radar Cabernet project is one that shouldn’t be missed. Since we enjoyed their 2012 vintage, we recently tasted their new 2013 release and again, think this Cabernet is great at its respective price. Crafted by consulting winemaker Paul Hobbs and winemaker Julian Gonalez, this 2013 “bouquet is packed with blackcurrant and black cherry jam with subtle notes of flowers, graphite, baker's chocolate, roasted espresso bean and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, plush, and incredibly concentrated with ripe black fruit with silky, well-integrated tannins. This small nine-acre hillside vineyard is managed by one of the best sources in Napa.” 550 cases were produced.
