Black Kite Angel Hawk Pinot Noir 2013Anderson Valley

This is the Reserve Pinot Noir coming from Black Kite’s estate vineyard blocks and it’s outstanding. With this Pinot Noir, you can see the full potential of not just what this Estate vineyard provides as the palette for winemaker Jeff Gaffner, but also what Anderson Valley as an appellation has to offer. It is one of the most focused, richly concentrated Pinots we’ve tasted from this AVA. Only in their best years do they make Angel Hawk and a few weeks ago we were able to taste this and have access to a few cases. In the glass, you will get dark black floral and fruit notes with “brown spice and tobacco notes, all seamlessly held in place by an elegant halo of sweet oak, which carries through on the long, textural finish.” We highly suggest trying a bottle or two if you are really into Pinot Noir.
