No. 6 Syrah 2017 – 750ml
Since 2012, Sine Qua Non’s right-hand guy and assistant winemaker has been Jim Binns and now, under his own wine brand Andremily, Jim is offering some of the most exciting Syrahs to date. This 2017 Syrah was co-fermented with 5% Mourvedre and 3% Viognier. “The 2017 No 6 checks in as 92% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, and 3% Viognier that saw the same 40% stems and will see 22 months in 60% new French oak. It too is inky colored and has a gorgeous bouquet of blackcurrants, cassis, scorched earth, violets, and ground pepper. Rich, powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated, it's more elegant and straight than the 2016, with a seamless texture, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. The 2017 has a touch more Larner Vineyard, which gives more acidity, and you see that in this barrel sample. It's another thrilling wine that's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and be a classic.” 97-99 Points, Jeb Dunnuck. 710 cases were produced.
