Aloft Cabernet Sauvignon 2012Howell Mountain

This 21-acre vineyard rises at about 1600 feet in elevation and is known for its incredible soil variation, literally from row to row. The 2012 marks their 5th vintage made by Thomas Rivers Brown. This special estate vineyard that Marc Mondavi owns was planted and continues to be farmed by Jim Barbour. Marc continues to sell fruit to Dave Phinney and to Thomas Brown as well as to a few other renowned winemakers for their own wines. This 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is “gorgeous- a flamboyant and dramatic wine with terrific fruit intensity (blackberry, cassis and blueberry), subtle background vanilla and toast, a hint of lead pencil shavings and floral underpinnings. Long, rich savory and layered, this is a fabulous Cabernet to drink over the next 20-25 years.” – Wine Advocate. We have been supporting Aloft since their first vintage and have to come love how the vines have matured each year, showing new depth with each new vintage release.
